After the success of 2008 Replication
Art is a new player in San Giorgio

In 2007, the Feast of Saint George had opened its doors to art, allowing five Alexandrian artists stand in a management and given the success of the initiative, In 2008, the former stables of Valfrè barracks were converted into real art workshops available to a large group of most artists. And this year 22 artists, novices or veterans of the fair, have continued in the same vein "occupying" the stables with their jobs.
The interest of many of them seem to be focused this year on the theme of recycling. Piero Verzetti working funds of plastic bottles to make colorful flowers, Bruno Carlin turns industrial waste into luminous sculptures or create chairs with PC keyboards have been taken out ... There are also exhibits some light installations created for the project "aloof" from the disabled children of the Nazareth House Coopers in collaboration with artists and architects: the materials used, even in this case, industrial waste recycled and made bright by the light.
then next to artists already present at the Fair, last year, as Tony Frisina, Tiziana April, Count Calvi di Niccolò Bergolo to name a few, have appeared then some new and interesting proposals, like that of Henry Francescon , whose works have become very particular with the creation an unusual material for art, cement, mixed with colored pigments. A material traditionally seen as colorless, neutral and shut off unexpectedly transformed by the chromatic pastel tiles and a surprising delicacy.
A workshop is then devoted to Remo Lanzoni, the Alexandrian painter who had died recently exhibited his own paintings in that space went Edition. 23/04/2009
