Massimo Cavalli: small size prints

Friday, May 21, at 21:00, the cultural association the black triangle opens a solo exhibition by Massimo Cavalli. The opportunity is given to us by the desire to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Swiss master by exposing a choice of beautiful carvings of small size. Cavalli, in Alexandria, we have already seen, always at the Triangle Black, a valuable exhibition of works on paper (gouaches and pastels) and a major retrospective exhibition of etchings, by Gabriele Allegro, the Cabinet of Ancient and Modern Cuttica Palace in 2007.
For this new appointment, it's time to let the magic of those stories that leaves minimal signs of strong and refined, evocative, abstract and rhythmic music, performed with the proven techniques of etching and drypoint, the latter Horses practiced with the lightness of a swish of a pen. Almost all of the exposed sheets are printed with icy clarity and with a clear seat india pale yellow paper that intensifies and maximizes the intrinsic brightness of the sign and vibrant artist nervous.

Massimo Cavalli was born in Locarno in 1930. He attended the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan where he opened a studio in 1962. Painter and engraver in 1967 exhibited at the Galleria in Milan with the presentation of the Million Roberto Tassi. In the same year he began a close and fruitful collaboration with printer Upiglio George and his atelier "Graphics One." In 1968, Vanni Scheiwiller publish a monograph in the series "Modern Italian Art." Numerous solo exhibitions held from 1957 to date, include in particular the Pinacoteca Casa Rusca of Locarno in 1988, the Gallery Art Villa of the Cedars of Bellinzona in 1990, the Jenisch Museum in Vevey in 1996, the Museo Cantonale d'Arte in 2006. Of course, great interest has always been the artist for graphics boasting Ticino, in this regard, a set of sheets intaglio and lithography, which now often exceeds 700. Equally vast is the literature regarding the original editions and rare, folders, pictures of books and other collections of poetry in limited numbers.
